英語でお話しします。

"I don't like porridge!"

Since our children were born, we've always eaten oatmeal (or porridge) for breakfast.

It's healthy and easy to make!

Recently, our youngest son started saying that he doesn't like porridge.

"I don't like porridge! Uuuurgh!"

He would sometimes eat it if we helped him, but he usually refused.

We tried some other things, like toast or rice balls...

And then our other two sons started complaining because they wanted to eat porridge again!

We weren't sure what to do.

A trip to the supermarket

Yesterday we went shopping at the supermarket.

We don't usually take our kids shopping, but we are busy this weekend, so we had to.

Yukari took one shopping trolley (shopping cart) to do most of the shopping.

I took another one for our kids to make 'bus'

Yukari asked us to buy some bread and milk.

When we were going past the cereal aisle, our kids noticed a box of porridge.

"Nanny's porridge! Can we buy this one? Pleeeeeease?"

They said the porridge they eat at their grandmother's house is more delicious than ours!

Even our youngest son said he wanted to buy it.

I put two boxes in the shopping trolley.

(Even though it is more than double the price of our usual porridge... )

A breakfast miracle

The next morning, we prepared the porridge.

Usually, we are not very careful with how much porridge and milk we put in the pan, nor how long we cook it for.

However, this time, we wanted to get it right!

We carefully measured the ingredients and cooked the porridge for exactly five minutes.

We put it in the bowls.

We put it on the table.

"Delicious! Yummy!"

Our youngest son even licked the bowl!

I don't know if the expensive porridge was worth it...

However, carefully following the instructions was definitely a good idea.

Sometimes it's good to try things yourself.

Other times, it's good to listen to experts and follow the instructions.

英語学習についても

同じようなことが言えます。

行動しているのに

うまくいかないのは

正しいやり方を知らないだけなのかも

反対に、

正しいやり方を知っているのに

成功しないのは

行動できていないから。

正しいやり方を知っていて

それを行動できてこそ

英語力が伸びていくものです。
